PRINCETON, N.J. – Following an afternoon of Monday basketball, No. 20 Princeton, Columbia, Penn and Yale all earned Ivy League victories.
PRINCETON 82, HARVARD 79 (OT)
No. 20 Princeton earned an 82–79 overtime win over Harvard on Monday with five players scoring in double figures. The Tigers controlled stretches of the fourth quarter before Harvard surged late, taking a three-point lead in the final seconds. Ashley Chea forced overtime with a corner three with 0.4 seconds remaining, and Princeton opened the extra period with five straight points to regain control. The victory pushed Princeton to 16–1 overall and 4–0 in Ivy League play. Harvard, led by Karlee White’s 27-point, 10-rebound performance, fell to 9–8 overall and 2–2 in conference action.
COLUMBIA 68, BROWN 52
Columbia led wire to wire in a 68–52 win over Brown on Monday, opening the game on a 13–0 run and closing with 11 straight points to seal it. The Lions forced 25 turnovers and rebuilt separation after Brown cut the deficit to four in the fourth quarter. Four Lions scored in double figures, led by Riley Weiss with 15 points, while Fliss Henderson posted a double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Columbia improved to 12–5 overall and 3–1 in Ivy League play, while Brown dropped to 11–5 overall and 3–1 in conference action.
PENN 67, DARTMOUTH 59
Penn earned its first Ivy League win of the season with a 67–59 victory over Dartmouth on Sunday at the Palestra. The Quakers controlled the paint and the glass, outrebounding the Big Green 41–35 and scoring 36 points inside. Tina Njike led Penn with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Simone Sawyer, Mataya Gayle and Katie Collins also finished in double figures. The win moved Penn to 11–6 overall and 1–3 in Ivy play, while Dartmouth fell to 9–8 overall and 0–4 in conference action.
YALE 58, CORNELL 43
Yale pulled away in the second half to earn a 58–43 road win over Cornell on Saturday at Newman Arena. The Bulldogs broke a tight first half with a strong third quarter, capped by a buzzer-beating three from Luisa Vydrova, before pushing the lead as high as 19. Ciniya Moore led Yale with 18 points, while Kiley Capstraw added eight assists and nine rebounds to help control the game. The win improved Yale to 5–12 overall and 1–3 in Ivy League play, while Cornell fell to 7–10 and 2–2 in conference action.
