Princeton, Columbia, Harvard, Brown Pick Up Wins As Second Half of Ivy Season Begins

PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 23 Princeton opened up the weekend with a win on Friday night before Harvard, Brown and Columbia followed up with Saturday victories as the Ivy League basketball season moved into the second half of play.

PRINCETON 69, PENN 50
Princeton earned a 69-50 win over Penn at Jadwin Gymnasium, improving to 19-2 overall and 7-1 in Ivy League play. The Tigers built separation in the middle quarters and held the Quakers to seven points in the final frame. Olivia Hutcherson led Princeton with 19 points, while Skye Belker added 16 and Madison St. Rose chipped in 15. Penn was paced by Simone Sawyer and Mataya Gayle with 16 points apiece, as the Quakers fell to 13-8 overall and 3-5 in Ivy play.

HARVARD 75, DARTMOUTH 35
Harvard used a dominant defensive performance to roll past Dartmouth, 75-35, at Lavietes Pavilion. The Crimson limited the Big Green to 35 points while pulling away early and extending the margin throughout the game. Aubrey Shaw led Harvard with 15 points, followed by Karlee White with 12 and Mary Hollensteiner with eight. Dartmouth was led by Alexandra Eldredge with 10 points, as Harvard earned its fourth straight win and improved to 13-8 overall and 6-2 in Ivy play while Dartmouth dropped to 9-11 overall and 1-7 in the league.

BROWN 66, YALE 52
Brown earned a 66-52 win over Yale at the Pizzitola Sports Center with the help of a 27-point fourth quarter, improving to 13-7 overall and 5-3 in Ivy League play. Grace Arnolie poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Bears, while Olivia Young added 12 and Alyssa Moreland chipped in a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Yale was paced by Ciniya Moore with 15 points as the Bulldogs fell to 5-16 overall and 2-6 in Ivy action.

COLUMBIA 80, CORNELL 55
Columbia pulled away in the second half to secure an 80-55 win over Cornell at Newman Arena. Riley Weiss delivered another standout performance with a game-high 38 points with nine made threes as the Lions shot a blistering 57 percent from the field, 56 percent from deep, while also out-rebounding Cornell, 33-14. Cornell was led by Kelsey Langston with 13 points. Columbia improved to 15-6 overall and 6-2 in Ivy play, while Cornell dropped to 8-13 overall and 3-5 in the league.
