Finals Set For Sunday of Women's Rowing Championship

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — After the first day of competition at the 2025 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship, Sunday’s finals have been set.

Yale posted a 7:02.020 to take the top spot of heat one of Varsity Four B, with Harvard (7:16.218) and Penn (7:29.611) coming in second and third to advance to the Grand Final on Sunday. The second heat saw Brown take the top spot with a time of 7:14.295. Princeton finished in 7:17.213 and Columbia came in close behind at 7:20.039.

In the first heat of Varsity Eight, Yale took the top spot after locking in a time of 6:08.012. Penn and Harvard finished the heat in 6:12.774 and 6:18.012, respectively, to advance to tomorrow’s Grand Final. Princeton, the seven-time defending champion in the Varsity Eight race, won the second heat with a 6:05.472 time, with Dartmouth (6:09.448) and Brown (6:17.254) coming in second and third.

Yale comfortably won the first heat of 2nd Varsity Eight with a 6:15.718, followed by Penn (6:22.205) and Harvard (6:25.865). The second heat featured a Princeton victory, coming across the line in 6:18.256. Brown (6:23.012) and Dartmouth (6:29.972) filled out the rest of tomorrow’s grand final, finishing second and third.

Yale cruised to a victory in heat one of the Varsity Four race, posting the only sub-seven-minute time of either heat. The Bulldogs posted a time of 6:55.919, followed by 7:09.126 by Brown and 7:20.166 by Penn. Princeton won the second heat of the Varsity Four, crossing the course in a 7:02.719 time. Dartmouth and Harvard pulled away towards the end of the race to take the second and third spots with times of 7:07.196 and 7:10.534, respectively.

The first 3rd Varsity Eight heat was won by Yale, who finished half a second off of the best time in the event on the day, posting a 6:37.508. Penn (6:41.153) and Columbia (6:42.393) finished shortly after Yale to earn a spot in the grand final. The last heat of the day, the second 3rd Varsity Eight heat, was won by Harvard, who posted a 6:37.077 time. Princeton finished right behind the Crimson with a 6:39.742 time and Brown earned the final spot in the grand final tomorrow morning crossing in 6:42.895.
