Four Ivies Place in Top 10 at NCAA Championship

BETHEL, OHIO – For the second consecutive year, four Ivy League women’s rowing teams finished in the top 10 of the NCAA Championship which took place from May 31 – June 2 at East Fork/Harsha Lake.

This is the seventh-ever time that a quartet of Ivies finished top 10 at the championship. It also occurred in 1997, 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2023.
 
Princeton’s I Eight placed fourth in the grand final with a time of 6:15.556 and was followed by Brown’s 6:18.030 which was good for fifth. The Tigers Four earned a medal, placing second in 7:03.761. Yale’s Four took fourth in 7:06.845. The Bulldogs II Eight earned fifth place in 6:25.776 and was followed by Princeton’s 6:32.828.
 
The Bears had a pair of second place finishes in the petite finals. Their Four boat turned in a time of 7:16.342 and their II Eight finished in 6:33.107. Penn placed fourth in a pair of petite finals: I Eight (6:21.446) and II Eight (6:35.449). The Quakers Four boat placed fifth in 7:23.156. Yale’s I Eight placed sixth in the petite final in 6:26.438.
 
The championship started off on a strong note Friday all 12 Ivy boats finishing in top three of their heats to secure an appearance in the A/B semifinals and thus a position in either the grand or petite finals.
