BEIJING -- Day six of Ivies in Beijing was filled with excitement as Ivies broke world records, claimed top spots in final rounds and topped rivals to maintain a perfect record in pool play.
Yale’s
Nathan Chen set a new world record with 113.97 points scored in the men’s short program to hold a commanding lead after day 1 of competition.
The Wukesong Sports Center was home to a much anticipated matchup of Canada vs United States women’s ice hockey. The Canadian women came from behind in the second period, scoring three goals, to top the United States 4-2. Cornell’s
Brianne Jenner scored two goals in the win. Canada’s perfect 4-0 record In pool play will allow them to advance to the quarterfinals.
Brown’s
Alena Mills and Cornell’s
Lenka Serdar attempted to help lift Czech over Japan, but fell 3-2 in penalty shootouts. Mills contributed one shot in 14:42 minutes of ice time, while Serdar fired off three in 8:34 on the ice.
Dartmouth’s
Rosie Brennan had an impressive showing in the Women’s Sprint Free early Tuesday morning. She finished in fourth place, right behind teammate Jesse Diggins who claimed bronze.
