PRINCETON, N.J. -- 12 Ivy League student-athletes were named to the
2018 Pocock All-America teams, as recently announced by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association
In total, 5-of-8 Ivy League programs were represented among the All-America lists with Princeton and Yale each taking home four honors followed by Brown (2), Columbia (1) and Penn (1).
Princeton’s
Claire Collins and
Emily Kallflez earned first-team All-America after leading the Tigers to its third-straight Ivy League Championship, as well as a top-five finish at the NCAA Championship. Yale’s
Lily Lindsey also garnered first-team honors.
Six Ivies were dubbed All-America Second Team: Brown’s
Cicely Madden and
Jen Mendelius, Columbia’s
Charlotte Buck, Penn’s
Regina Salmons and Princeton’s
Ellie Sawyer.
Yale also produced a pair of All-America Honorable Mention selections in
Marybeth Swords and
Amy Warner. Princeton’s
Melissa Curtis also reaped All-America Honorable Mention honors.
Ivy League Coach of the Year,
Lori Dauphiny of Princeton, was named the Region I Coach of the Year.
The CRCA All-America teams recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women's collegiate rowing. General requirements for nominating a student-athlete for CRCA postseason honors are: 1) student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, 2) student-athlete must have rowed at least 75 percent of the current spring season's races in the varsity boat (before and including May 19, 2016), 3) student-athlete must be nominated by her institution and 4) the head coach of the student athlete's institution must be a member in good standing of the CRCA.
