PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton clinched the outright Ivy League title and the No. 1 seed Ivy Madness seed on the final day of the regular season, while Harvard, Penn and Cornell also closed out the regular season schedule with victories Saturday.
PRINCETON 78, YALE 55
Princeton secured the outright Ivy League title and the No. 1 seed in Ivy Madness with a 78-55 win over Yale at Jadwin Gymnasium. The Tigers used a 25-point second quarter to build control and never looked back, shooting 57 percent from the field (29-of-51) in the victory. Fadima Tall led Princeton with 22 points, while Madison St. Rose added 17 and Skye Belker chipped in 14. Princeton, the nation’s No. 23 ranked team, finished the regular season
24-3 overall and 12-2 in Ivy League play, while Yale closed the year
7-20 overall and 3-11 in conference action.
HARVARD 68, COLUMBIA 64
Harvard rallied past Columbia for a 68-64 road win at Levien Gymnasium to close out the regular season schedule. The Crimson outscored the Lions 29-16 in the third quarter to seize control before holding on late. Karlee White led Harvard with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Perri Page paced Columbia with 25 points and eight boards. Harvard finished the regular season
17-10 overall and 10-4 in Ivy play, while Columbia closed
20-7 overall and 11-3 in the league. Both teams will face each other next week in the Ivy Madness semifinal as the No. 2 (Columbia) and No. 3 (Harvard) seeds.
PENN 69, BROWN 56
Penn closed out the regular season schedule with a 69-56 win over Brown at The Palestra after taking control with a 26-point second quarter. Simone Sawyer and Katie Collins scored 17 points apiece to lead the Quakers, while Mataya Gayle added 13. Alyssa Moreland posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Brown. Penn finished its season
17-10 overall and 7-7 in Ivy League play, while Brown closed
16-10 overall and 8-6 in conference action and will turn its focus to Ivy Madness as the No. 4 seed.
CORNELL 78, DARTMOUTH 53
Cornell wrapped up the regular season schedule with a 78-53 win over Dartmouth at Newman Arena behind a balanced offensive effort. Clarke Jackson led the Big Red with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Audrey Chen added 12 and Emily Pape scored 11. Cornell finished the season
9-18 overall and 4-10 in Ivy play, while Dartmouth closed the year
10-17 overall and 1-13 in conference action.
