Cooper, Shaw, Jeon, Holcombe Earn Weekly Baseball Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – After strong individual performances on the diamond, Columbia’s Jack Cooper (player), Yale’s Colton Shaw (pitcher), Columbia’s Eric Jeon (co-rookie) and Cornell’s Huxley Holcombe (co-rookie) earned Ivy League weekly baseball honors.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Jack Cooper, Columbia INF
  • Was 5-for-14 (.357) in Columbia's three-game sweep at Dartmouth 
  • Had a team-high three home runs and 14 total bases
  • Scored six runs, drove in seven runs, and stole a base over three starts.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Colton Shaw, Yale P
  • Earned a big win for the Bulldogs in the series finale against Penn on Sunday
  • Tossed 6.0 innings without permitting an earned run
  • Struck out five batters and surrendered six hits
 
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Eric Jeon, Columbia INF
  • Was 7-for-13 (.537) for the Lions over the weekend
  • Drove in a team-high 10 runs over the weekend
  • Scored six runs, two sacrifice flies, and posted two four-RBI games
 
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Huxley Holcombe, Cornell LHP
  • Earned his first collegiate win, coming on in relief in Cornell’s win over Harvard
  • Allowed just two baserunners in his five shutout innings
  • Retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced, which included the final nine Crimson hitters
  • Issued just one walk and struck out three batters
