2026 Baseball All-Ivy, Major Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -  Following a vote of the league’s eight head coaches, the Ivy League announced its All-Ivy baseball teams and major award winners for the 2026 season Thursday afternoon.
 
Brown’s Mika Petersen was named the League’s Player of the Year. The senior outfielder hit a league-best .443 in conference play with a 1.316 OPS, while adding a .531 on-base percentage and .785 slugging percentage. In all, Petersen hit .355 across 39 games, registering 54 hits on the year, including 10 doubles, three triples and five home runs. Peterson also contributed 33 runs, 32 RBI and 12 stolen bases for the Bears, slashing .355/.434/.559, while also turning in a perfect fielding percent in 98 chances.
 
The Pitcher of the Year award was given to Yale’s Tate Evans, the second consecutive season that a Bulldog has earned the honor. Evans finished the season 6-1 overall and two saves with an Ivy League-best 2.86 ERA across 72.1 innings. The senior right-hander appeared in 20 games with six starts on the mound, striking out 73 total batters and holding opponents to a .224 batting average against. Evans was 5-0 in league play with a 2.63 ERA, holding hitters to a .198 batting average in 11 league appearances.
 
Freshman standout Ross Yoshida of Cornell earned Rookie of the Year honors. The Big Red’s go-to arm out of the bullpen, Yoshida made 16 relief appearances and ranked second in the conference with a 2.89 ERA with a 3-1 record and a save across 43.2 innings. The New York native totaled 42 strikeouts and just 13 walks, while opponents hit .199 against him which was the the top mark in the Ivy League.
 
After leading the program to its first winning season since 2009, Brown’s coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Frank Holbrook, was named Coaching Staff of the Year. The Bears finished the regular season 21-18 with a 13-8 conference mark, earning the league's No. 3 seed in this week’s Ivy League Tournament. Brown is set to make its first postseason appearance since 2007.
 
The All-Ivy First Team featured an honoree from seven different League institutions. Evans and Petersen were each unanimous selections to the All-Conference First Team along with Harvard’s duo of Gio Colasante and Jack Rickheim. Penn also had a pair of unanimous First Team selections in Gavin Degnan and Thomas Shurtleff, while Columbia’s Jack Kail, Princeton’s Brady Kaufman, and Yale’s Garrett Larsen were also unanimous selections.
 
Ernie Echevarria, Jarrett Pokrovsky, and Jack Warner were also placed on the First Team, giving Penn five members on the First Team. Brown’s DJ Dillehay and Dylan Reid, along with Dartmouth’s Mac Burke, rounded out the First Team honorees.
 
Additionally, one Ivy League baseball student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the field as members of the 2026 Ivy League Baseball Academic All-Ivy team. Brown's Peter Dubie, Columbia's Cole Fellows, Cornell's Owen Carlson, Dartmouth’s Milo Suarez, Harvard’s Max Lane, Penn's Thomas Shurtleff, Princeton’s Jake Koonin and Yale’s Tate Evans were each named to the team.
