Lions Earn Outright Ivy Title, Set to Host Ivy Tournament

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Columbia baseball team completed a sweep of Cornell to claim the outright Ivy League title. The Lions allowed just two hits as part of a 13-0 shutout of the Big Red Sunday afternoon.
 
With the win, Columbia has secured the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the Ivy League tournament, which will be played from May 17-20.
 
The Lions have been hot since the start of league play – winning 20 of their last 23 games. The sweep over Cornell signified, Columbia’s fourth series sweep in Ivy play.
 
Columbia is 15-3 in Ivy play which is four games ahead of second place Princeton. Just three games separate teams 2-6 in the Ivy standings, with each team having three league games remaining.
