PRINCETON, N.J. — Following a stellar season for Ivy League women's basketball, the 2023-24 season ended fittingly after three Ivy League graduates — Columbia's
Abbey Hsu and
Kaitlyn Davis and Harvard's
McKenzie Forbes — were selected in the WNBA draft earlier this evening.
Selected with the 34
th pick in the draft by the Connecticut Sun, Hsu enters the WNBA following a stellar season that saw her win Ivy League Player of the Year and AP Honorable Mention All-America honors.
In her final season with the Lions, Hsu helped lead Columbia to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth after averaging 20.4 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.
The first Ivy League student-athlete to hear her name called on the night was Forbes who was picked 28
th by the Los Angeles Sparks. Following two seasons with the Crimson where she averaged 13.9 points per game, Forbes transferred to USC and was a driving force in the Trojans' run to the Elite Eight.
Alongside Forbes at USC was Davis who heard her name called by the New York Liberty with the 35
th pick. Before transferring to USC, Davis spent three seasons at Columbia, averaging 12.0 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.
This past season, the Ivy League sent two teams — Columbia and Princeton — to the NCAA Tournament to cap off a memorable 2023-24 season.
