INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced that 54 Ivies have qualified for the 2024 NC men’s and women’s championships. The 2024 NC men's and women's fencing championships will go from March 21 to March 24 at French Field House in Columbus, Ohio.
Representatives from all 12 Ivy squads are set to compete at the national championships. Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After round robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places, and non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.
Entering the championships, six women’s programs are in the national rankings. Columbia tops the nation at No. 1, followed by Harvard (No. 3), Princeton (No. 4), Penn (No. 7), Cornell (No. 8) and Yale (No. 10). On the men’s side, Columbia is also the No. 1 team in the nation, followed by Princeton (No. 2), Harvard (No. 5), Yale (No. 7), and Penn (No. 8).
