PRINCETON, N.J. – Penn was unanimously voted the preseason favorite in the 2024 Ivy League Preseason Baseball Poll, which was voted on by sports information directors from around the league and a media member that covers each school.
The Quakers won the inaugural Ivy League Baseball Tournament last season and later advanced to the NCAA regional final. Penn returns six players who earned all-Ivy honors, including Ivy League Pitcher of the Year Ryan Dromboski. The Quakers had 128 points in the poll and earned all 16 first place votes.
Columbia was selected to finish second in the poll with 101 points. The Lions have won five Ivy titles in the last nine seasons. Harvard, which was 15-6 in league play last year and finished second in the standings, was closely behind with 97 points.
Princeton was selected to finish fourth with 87 points. The Tigers advanced to the Ivy tournament final.
Yale (66 points), Cornell (37), Brown (35) and Dartmouth (25) rounded out the preseason poll.
Opening day for all eight teams is Friday, Feb. 23.
