PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard, Penn and Princeton baseball teams punched their tickets to the
2023 Ivy League Baseball Tournament Saturday afternoon. The tournament will take place May 19-22 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
Harvard secured its spot with an impressive home sweep over Columbia, capped off by a 13-3 victory over the Lions. Harvard concludes its Ivy slate with a three-game series at home against Yale on May 13-14.
Penn topped Cornell 4-3 on Saturday with the go ahead run coming in the top of the ninth inning. The Quakers close out Ivy play at home against Columbia on May 13-14.
Princeton, which won two games against Yale on Friday, was also clinched a spot in tournament. Winners of thier last eight games, the Tigers are 12-5 in league play. Princeton closes out it series with Yale on Monday. Princeton's final Ivy series is at home against Brown on May 6-7.
Harvard and Penn are tied for the top place in the Ivy League standings at 13-5 in conference play. Princeton is a half-game back in the standings.
This will be the first year of the Ivy League Baseball Tournament, which will include a four-team field.
