Princeton's Dudas Earns Second Consecutive Women's Fencing Coach of the Year Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading the No. 2 Princeton women’s fencing team to its second-straight Ivy League fencing title, Zoltan Dudas was voted Coach of the Year after a vote by the League’s seven head coaches.
 
Dudas, who is in the midst of his 17th season with the Tigers, earns his second consecutive and fifth overall Coach of the Year honors after leading Princeton to a perfect 6-0 record over the course of the 2023 Round-Robins. Princeton defeated Brown, 23-4, No. 7 Cornell, 19-8, No. 8 Yale, 15-12, No. 10 Penn, 20-7, No. 4 Harvard, 16-11, and No. 3 Columbia, 20-7.
 
In addition, Dudas produced two individual champions following the event including Maia Weintraub (foil) and Hadley Husisian (epee). In addition, Dudas mentored a League-high five All-Ivy first team finishers, including Maia Weintraub and May Tieu in foil, Chloe Fox-Gitomer in saber, and Hadley Husisian and Jessica Lin in epee. In addition, May Tieu was named to the Academic All-Ivy team.
 
Princeton will look to keep things rolling into the NCAA season as the Tigers are set to compete at NCAA Regionals on May 11.
