Princeton's Dudas Garners Coach of the Year Honors; Postseason Award Winners Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading the top-ranked Princeton women’s fencing team to its 11th Ivy League Round-Robin title in program history, Zoltan Dudas was voted Coach of the Year after a vote by the League’s head coaches. 
 
Dudas earns his fourth Coach of the Year honors after leading the Tigers to a perfect 6-0 mark through the two-day event. Princeton sweep all three of the individual titles on the women’s side. Chloe Fox-Gitomer went 12-2 overall to win the saber title. Maia Weintraub earned 12 wins to take home the foil title. Jessica Lin earned the epee title with a 12-2 record. In his 16th season at the helm, Dudas has guided Princeton to a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championship each year.
 
The top three finishers in each weapon were honored as First-Team All-Ivy with fencers finishing 4-6 earning Second-Team Accolades. In saber, Princeton's Fox Gitomer and Maia Chamberlain and Penn's Amber White were named to the first-team. Princeton's Maia Weintraub, Harvard's Lauren Scruggs and Princeton's May Tieu were first-team in foil. Princeton's Jessica Lin, Penn's Chloe Daniel and Harvard's Emily Vemuele were first team in epee. 

The second team consisted of Harvard's Elizabeth Tartakovsky, Ryan Jenkins and Princeton's Veronica Czyzewski for saber. Yale's Emme Zhou, Columbia's Slyvie Binder and Zander Rhodes in foil. For epee, Harvard's Greta Candreva, Yale's Joy Ma, Penn's Jessica Liang and Harvard's Claire Beddingfield. 
 
Additionally, one Ivy League women’s fencing student-athlete form each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the strip as members of the 2021-22 Ivy League Women's Fencing Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s Sofia Yee-Wadsworth, Columbia’s Sylvie Binder, Cornell’s Megan Eno, Harvard’s Elizabeth Tartakovsky, Penn’s Amber White, Princeton May Tieu and Yale’s Emme Zhou were each named to the team.
 
Women's Academic All-Ivy
Sofia Yee-Wadsworth, Brown (So., Epee – Boston, Mass.)
Had 41 wins during the regular season in the epee to lead Brown.
 
Sylvie Binder, Columbia (Sr., Foil - Armonk, N.Y.)
2019 NCAA women's foil champion. Third place national finish as a first-year in 2018. Two-time First Team All-American (2018, 2019). Silver (2018) and Bronze (2019) medalist at NCAA Northeast Regionals. Two-time Ivy League women's foil champion (2018, 2019). Three-time All-Ivy League selection (First Team in 2018 and 2019 and Second Team in 2022). Winter Academic All-Ivy League selection (2018 and 2019). 2021-22 foil record: 52-13. Overall career collegiate record: 131-22.
 
Megan Eno, Cornell (Sr., Epee – Salem, Oregon)
Two-time HM All-American...two-time first-team All-Ivy in epee. Silver at NCAA Northeast Regional in 2019. Boasts a 161-69 career record. Three-time NCAA Northeast Regional qualifier.
 
Elizabeth Tartakovsky, Harvard (Jr., Sabre – Livingston, N.J.)
Heading into the Ivy League Championships, Tartakovsky owned a 28-7 bout record throughout the season for the Crimson, with the 28 wins being a team-high. Tartakovsky would post a 13-5 record with a +26-touch differential throughout the Ivy League Championships and help her team to a second place finish. She was named to the Second Team All-Ivy League squad with her performance. It was her second career nod to an All-Ivy League team.
 
Amber White, Penn (Jr., Sabre – Gainesville, Fla.)
First-team All-Ivy in sabre with a 14-4 record at Ivy Round-Robins. Has 40 wins and a 40-20 record so far in 2021-22, tops among Penn's sabre team.
 
May Tieu, Princeton (Jr., Foil – Belle Mead, N.J.)
A first-team All-Ivy foil, Tieu went 11-4 to help Princeton sweep its way to the Ivy League title studying economics. Went 45-26 as a freshman and competed at the NCAA Regional that year.
 
Emme Zhou, Yale (Jr., Foil – Lexington, Mass.)
Placed fourth in the foil at the Ivy League Round-Robins in 2022. Earned Second-Team All-Ivy recognition. First-Team All-America selection in 2020.
