PRINCETON, N.J. – After strong showings on the diamond last week Columbia’s Hayden Schott and Joe Sheets and Penn’s Wyatt Henseler earned weekly Ivy League baseball awards. This marked the first time since the 2014 season that Columbia had a player and pitcher of the week in the same week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hayden Schott, Columbia (Jr., OF – Newport Beach, Calif.)
- Had a monster week at the plate, going 9-for-15 and launching four home runs
- Rounded the bases seven times and drove in 10 runs
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Joe Sheets, Columbia (Fr., RHP – Wilmington, Del.)
- Pitched 7.0 scoreless innings a win over Harvard
- Struck out seven batters and only walked one
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Wyatt Henseler, Penn (So., 3B – Emmaus, Pa)
- Had a big week at the dish, hitting 9-for-19 and driving in 12 runs
- Recorded four doubles and belted three home runs
