PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2022 season opens at the 2022 Columbia Classic Presented by Moon Golf this weekend at Duran Golf Club in Viera, Florida. The 15-team field is highly competitive, featuring eight schools from Power Five conferences as well as three additional Ivies – Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale. Harvard will open the 2022 season on February 19 at the Charleston Southern, while Penn gets underway in a few weeks.
Columbia will play host and have seven golfers in Florida to compete in the event. Columbia’s contingency will feature two seniors in Alexis Florio and Jennifer Wang as well as Taylor Zeng, Allison Paik and Paige Harrison. Christine Shao and Annie Sun will compete at individuals.
Dartmouth will rely on sophomore Katherine Sung, who established herself as on the top players in the fall, finishing third in two of the three events, while posting a team-best 73.0 stroke average.
Princeton competed in four events in the fall, winning the last two including Delaware's Lady Blue Hen and the Princeton Invitational. The Tigers broke three times what had been the program record for a three-round tournament, resetting that at 864 with the Princeton Invitational. Princeton also broke the single-round team score at the Princeton Invite, shooting 280 in the second round to better by six strokes the record entering the fall season.
Yale had a strong fall campaign, highlighted by a win at the Boston College Invitational. They Bulldogs went on to post a second, a fourth and an eighth-place finish in the team’s three other events.
The
2022 Ivy League Women’s Golf Championship is set for April 22-24 at the Ridge at Back Brook. Harvard, the 2019 Ivy League Women’s Golf Championship will look to secure its seventh title since 2012.
