Women's Golf All-Ivy, Major Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. — Following the 2025 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship, The Ivy League announced the All-Ivy teams and major award winners on Thursday afternoon.
 
Following a stellar season, Princeton's Catherine Rao was unanimously voted as the Ivy League Player of the Year. Rao, who is currently ranked 55th in the nation, recorded two tournament wins throughout the 2024-25 season at the Nittany Lion Invitational and Columbia Classic. In addition, the California native placed in the top-10 in four more events including the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship that saw her place third with a score of -4. The results throughout the season earned her a spot in the Augusta National Women's Amateur earlier this month.
 
Rao's teammate, Olivia Duan, earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors after a rookie season that saw one win and six top-10 finishes. Currently ranked 128th in the NCAA, Duan posted a victory at the UNCW River Landing Classic with a score of -7 in the beginning of March. The win came in the middle of a string of five-straight top-10 finishes for Duan that was capped with a seventh place finish at the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship.

Princeton, led by head coach Erika DeSanty, earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors following a win in the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship. The Tigers posted an Ivy League Championship record score of +4 throughout the three rounds. In addition, Princeton added two more wins throughout the year at the Princeton Invitational and Nittany Lion Invitational. The Tigers will compete at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional on May 5-7.

In addition to Rao and Duan, Columbia's Christine Chang, Harvard's Vanessa Zhang, Princeton's Victoria Liu, and Yale's Mia Sessa were named to the All-Ivy First Team. Zhang will compete at the NCAA Columbus Regional in May following a win at the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship. The freshman from Vancouver, Canada posted an Ivy League Championship record score of -11 throughout the three days to earn medalist honors.

Dartmouth had two student-athletes on Second Team All-Ivy as Olivia Cong and Sophie Thai were named to the team. Penn's Julie Shin, Princeton's Abra Richmond, and Yale's Alexis Kim joined them on the team.

Additionally, one Ivy League women's golf student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the course as members of the 2024-25 Ivy League Women's Golf Academic All-Ivy team. Columbia's Yoko Tai, Dartmouth’s Sophie Thai, Harvard’s Catie Schernecker, Penn's Julie Shin, Princeton’s Victoria Liu and Yale’s Alexis Kim were each named to the team.
