Hockey, Moguls and Cross-Country Highlight Day 4 in Beijing

BEIJING -- Day four of Olympic action was full of excitement as Ivies performed for medals and helped their teams stay alive in pool play.

On the ice, the Chinese women’s hockey team secured a win in shootouts, 2-1, over rival Japan on Sunday afternoon (early Sunday morning in the United States). Princeton’s Kimberly Newell is credited with the win after tending goal the entirety of the match. Brown’s Maggie Woo put China on the board in the third period of the match. She registered three shots in her 17:15 minutes on the ice.

In the snow, Columbia’s Olivia Giacco made an impressive performance to put her just outside of medal contention as she finished fifth in the women’s mogul final. Harvard’s Rémi Drolet made his Olympic debut as he placed 57th in the Men’s Skiathlon.
