Yale Tops Ivy League Preseason Baseball Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – Yale was named the preseason favorite for the 2022 Ivy League Preseason Baseball Poll, which was voted on by sports information directors from around the league and a media member that covers each school.
 
Yale garnered 107 points in the poll and finished with five first-place votes. Led by 31-year head coach John Stuper, the Bulldogs have won two of the last three Ivy titles. 
 
The top four teams in the poll each received multiple first-place votes. Columbia, which also had five first-place votes, finished just five points below Yale to earn the No. 2 preseason ranking. Penn was not far behind in the poll with 96 points, including four first-place votes. Harvard took the fourth spot with 92 points and collected a pair of first-place votes. 
 
Dartmouth (72 points), Princeton (47), Brown (35) and Cornell (25) rounded out the preseason poll. 
 
Opening day for all eight teams is Friday, Feb. 25. Six teams will play their opening series against power five schools.
