Gehri, Tomlinson & Swank Reap Baseball Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. -- A pair of Ivies—Cornell and Penn—picked up their first victories of the 2020 campaign, while Brown and Yale added to the win column this weekend.  

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Gehri, Yale (So., C – Buckley, Wash.)
  • Hit .571 (8-for-14) over Yale’s 1-2 weekend
  • Slugged 1.143 with two home runs and a triple, while adding 10 RBI and three runs scored
  • Each of his three extra-base hits came in the Bulldogs 19-7 victory
  • Has started all six games for the Bulldogs thus far
  • Rated as the No. 148 returning hitter in college baseball by D1Baseball—1-of-6 Ivies to crack the Top 150

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Will Tomlinson, Brown (Sr., RHP – Irvine, Calif.)
  • Threw 7.0 innings of two-hit baseball in a no decision that led to Brown’s 4-3 extra-inning victory over La Salle
  • Allowed one earned run, two hits and a walk
  • Struck out seven—an average a 1.00 per frame
  • Held his opposition to a .087 batting average
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Carson Swank, Yale (Fr., IF – Ashburn, Va.)
  • Hit .417 (5-for-12) over Yale’s 1-2 weekend
  • Tallied a pair of doubles to slug .583, while adding six RBI and six runs scored
  • Registered three runs scored and two RBI in the Bulldogs 19-7 victory
  • Has started all six games for the Bulldogs thus far and leads the team with a .400 batting average
