Women's Rowing All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- After leading Princeton to its fourth consecutive Ivy League Championship, Lori Dauphiny has been named Ivy League Coach of the Year following the 2019 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship at Cooper River.
 
Dauphiny, who has led the Tigers to 10 Ivy League Championships in her 22 years at the helm, earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors for the fourth straight season.
 
Princeton claimed the first varsity eight race in a time of 6:32.64 and with the win, the Tigers secured the Sally P. Shoemaker Trophy, the top point total for all boats and the conference's NCAA automatic bid with the highest point total in the V8, 2V8 and V4 events.
 
In the NCAA final points standings, the Tigers recorded 48 points while Brown was second with 42. Yale (36) followed along with Harvard (28), Penn (25), Dartmouth (17), Cornell (11) and Columbia (9). The Tigers' point total for all boats was 87, 12 more than Brown (75). Yale was third (52) with Harvard (52), Penn (41), Dartmouth (28), Cornell (19) and Columbia (15) rounding out the field.
 
The Ivy League will send four teams to the 2019 NCAA Championship for the 13th time in League history as Dauphiny will lead the Tigers to its 23rd NCAA appearance in program history. Brown, Harvard and Yale earned three of the 11 at-large bids to this year's championship, which is set May 31-June 2 at Indianapolis Rowing Center. The League has sent at least three teams every NCAA championship since its inception in 1997.
 
The 2019 All-Ivy teams were named at the conclusion of the Championship. Coaches nominated five student-athletes prior to taking the course at Copper River and team’s earn All-Ivy recognition based on their finish in the Varsity Eight.
 
Princeton was represented by Claire Collins and Emily KallfelzEllie Saywer and Emily Erdos on the First-Team. Brown’s Sophie Paine and Louise Sommer, joined Yale’s Daisy Mazzio Manson, Harvard’s Teresa Rokos, Penn’s Tessa LaPatra, Dartmouth’s Cara Cavanaugh, Columbia’s Liza Ray and Cornell’s Sheehan Gotsch on the First Team.
 
The second team All-Ivy included Princeton’s Sadie McGirr and Hannah Paynter, Brown’s Keenae Tiersma, Amy Tarczynski and Anna Odell, Yale’s Arwen Neski and Margaret Saunders, Harvard’s Rafaela Stalph, Penn’s Ellie Harned, Dartmouth’s Rebecca Conway, Columbia’s Sabrina Maurer and Cornell’s Jackie Schroyer.
