PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — After the first day of competition at the 2026 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship, Sunday’s finalists have been determined.
The afternoon began with the 3rd Varsity Eight race. Penn claimed victory in the first heat with a time of 6:44.059, followed by Dartmouth (6:48.112) and Harvard (6:50.392), which also qualified for Sunday’s Grand Final in second and third place, respectively. Yale won the second heat, posting a mark of 6:36.168. Brown (6:39.924) and Princeton (6:40.213) also punched their tickets to the Grand Final.
Yale also earned the win in the first heat of Varsity Eight, posting a 6:02.654. Columbia claimed second place with a 6:08.985 and Dartmouth finished third (6:14.041) to join the Bulldogs in the Grand Final. Eight-time defending champion Princeton finished atop the heat two standings (6:07.353), followed by Brown (6:11.229) and Harvard (6:18.520).
The Tigers took victory in the first heat of the 2nd Varsity Eight race with a time of 6:18.791. They will be joined in the Grand Final by Dartmouth (6:27.078) and Harvard (6:28.322). Heat two saw Yale earn its third win of the day (6:09.329) with Brown tightly behind in second (6:10.224) and Columbia in third place (6:20.529).
The final event of the afternoon was the Varsity Four. The Bulldogs won their fourth heat with a mark of 7:00.467. Penn (7:02.762) and Brown (7:09.149) followed. Heat two saw Princeton (7:01.618), Dartmouth (7:05.614) and Harvard (7:11.509) qualify for the Grand Final.
The Championship continues on Sunday at 8 a.m. in New Jersey, beginning with the Varsity Four C final.
