PRINCETON, N.J. -- Dartmouth and Yale picked up victories, as four Ivies opened the 2019 campaign with road series.  

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Benny Wanger, Yale (Sr., 1B/RHP – Newton, Mass.)

• Hit .538 (7-for-13) with seven walks for a .700 on-base percentage 
• Slugged .846 with a double and a home run, while adding three runs, three RBI and two stolen bases 
• Picked up a save in Yale’s 4-2 win at New Mexico State
• Recorded three strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched
• Parents David (Harvard baseball) and Gwen (Brown field hockey and lacrosse) were both Ivy League student-athletes

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Scott Politz, Yale (Sr., RHP – Austin, Texas) 

• Tossed Yale to a 4-2 victory at New Mexico State, earning the win in his first start of the season
• Threw 7.2 innings, allowing just six hits and two unearned runs
• Posted a 0.00 ERA, while striking out two
• Held the Aggies, who are averaging 18.25 runs per game, to just two unearned runs 
• Three-time First Team All-Ivy selection

 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Trystan Sarcone, Dartmouth (Fr., LHP – Greenwich, Conn.) 

• Tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in relief for the Big Green 
• Posted a 0.00 ERA, while striking out four 
• Scattered three hits and two walks
• Held opponents to a .250 batting average
