Women's Ice Hockey All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell’s Kristin O’Neill and Maddie Mills received the Ivy League women’s ice hockey postseason awards following a vote of the League’s six head coaches.
 
Cornell’s Doug Derraugh was unanimously named the Ivy League Coach of the Year, sophomore forward Kristin O’Neill was selected as the Player of the Year and freshman forward Maddie Mills was unanimously tabbed as the Rookie of the Year.
 
O’Neill accumulated a 13 points in Ivy League play, tallying four goals and nine assists. On the season, the Oakville, Ontario, native amassed a League-high 38 points via 19 goals and 19 assists. O’Neill is a top 10 point-getter (4th), goal-scorer (5th) and assist-producer (10th) in ECAC Hockey.
 
Mills registered 11 points against Ivy League opposition, with seven goals and four assists. The Sewickley, Pa., product accumulated 28 points—fourth among Ivies—by netting 16 goals and adding 12 assists on the year. Mills is a top 15 point-getter (14th) and goal-scorer (7th) in ECAC Hockey.
 
In his 13th season at the helm of the Big Red program, Derraugh was a unanimous selection for Coach of the Year—for the second-straight season—after leading Cornell to an 8-1-1 record in League play. Cornell earned back-to-back Ivy League crowns for the first time since a string of four-straight from 2009-13. The Big Red also finished third in ECAC Hockey with a 15-5-2 mark and 32 points.
 
Ivy League champion Cornell boasts a League-high five First Team All-Ivy selection including unanimous honoree O’Neill, Mills, senior defender Sarah Knee (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), sophomore defender Jaime Bourbonnais (Missauga, Ontario, Canada) and junior goaltender Marlène Boissonnault (Dundee, New Brunswick, Canada).
 
Princeton tied the Big Red with five All-Ivy recipients, with sophomore forward Carly Bullock (Eden Prairie, Minn.) as a unanimous First Team selection and junior forward Karlie Lund (Eden Prairie, Minn.), sophomore defender Claire Thompson (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), junior defender Stephanie Sucharda (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) and sophomore goaltender Stephanie Neatby (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) landing on the Second Team.
 
Yale is represented on the First Team by senior defender Mallory Souliotis (Acton, Mass.) and on the Second Team by freshman forward Greta Skarzynski (Lake Forest, Ill.). Harvard freshman forward Becca Gilmore (Wayland, Mass.) also reaped Second Team All-Ivy honors.
