PRINCETON, N.J. -- After two weekends of cross-divisional play, the Lou Gehrig Division is 21-11 against the Red Rolfe Division, including a 10-6 mark last weekend.
Columbia (13-15, 6-2 Ivy) vaulted its way into first-place overall in the standings with a weekend sweep of Yale and Brown, while Cornell (17-10, 5-3 Ivy), Penn (18-11, 5-3 Ivy) and Princeton (7-20, 5-3 Ivy) all went 2-2 in Ivy play.
The Lions are 11-4 over their last 15 games and are on their second four-game winning streak this season.
Dartmouth (17-5, 4-4 Ivy) remains in first in the Red Rolfe Division after splitting with Princeton and Cornell. The double-header against the Big Red was a rematch of last year’s Championship Series, won by Cornell in three games. This time around, the two teams showed why the 2012 Championship Series was so exciting, as Dartmouth won the first game, 1-0, before Cornell took the second, 3-0.
Harvard (6-21, 3-5 Ivy) also went 2-2 on the week, splitting with Cornell and Princeton, including a 20-19 win over the Tigers that marked the highest scoring game involving an Ivy League team since Columbia lost to St. John’s, 22-21 on March 24, 2010, and the most runs in a League contest since Princeton upended Penn, 21-11 on April 24, 2004. Brown (3-19, 1-7 Ivy) and Yale (6-18, 3-5 Ivy) each went 1-3 in League play last week.
This coming weekend features back-to-back interdivisional double headers. Dartmouth will host Brown, Columbia will face Cornell, Penn will take on Princeton and Harvard will play Yale.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Princeton junior Mike Ford (Belle Mead, N.J.) was stellar at the plate and the mound, leading the Tigers to a 2-3 week. Ford batted .474 (9-of-19) in five games, including three multi-hit games. He walked three times and recorded an on-base percentage of .545, while slugging 1.000 thanks to four doubles and two home runs. Ford knocked in eight runs and scored six more.
On the mound, Ford shut down the Crimson in a 13-1 win, matching his career-high with seven strikeouts over seven innings of work for the complete game victory. He allowed just four hits and one unearned run and posted an ERA of 0.00.
Ford is the first Tiger to earn a weekly award this season as he takes home his third career Ivy League weekly honor after being named Rookie of the Week twice in 2011.

He then went the distance in a 1-0 win over Penn, striking out a career-high 11 over nine innings of work. He limited the Quakers to just four hits while picking up his first career complete game.
Hickey is Yale’s first weekly award winner this season. He earns his first career Ivy weekly honor and becomes the Bulldogs’ first Pitcher of the Week since Pat Ludwig on April 19, 2011.
