PRINCETON, N.J. — Brown, Cornell, Penn, and Yale all claimed wins on Saturday night as the race for the top four spots continues to take shape. In a battle between the two teams tied atop the standings (Harvard and Yale), the Bulldogs won a thriller in overtime to take sole possession of first-place.
YALE 76, HARVARD 75
Yale (20-4, 8-2 Ivy) rallied from a four-point halftime deficit and outscored Harvard 46–41 after the break and in overtime to earn a 76–75 win at Lavietes Pavilion.
Isaac Celiscar scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds,
Casey Simmons added 16 points and eight rebounds, and
Jordan Brathwaite provided a major lift off the bench with 17 points on five made threes as the Bulldogs went 11-for-25 from deep. Yale also won the glass 36–30 and got 27 bench points in the overtime victory. Harvard (14-10, 7-3 Ivy) was led by
Thomas Batties II with 23 points.
COLUMBIA 75, PRINCETON 65
Columbia (15-9, 4-6 Ivy) shot 57.1% from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers to earn a 75–65 road win at Jadwin Gym. The Lions poured in 45 second-half points while shooting 64.0% after the break, with
Blair Thompson leading the way with 14 points and
Miles Franklin adding 12. Columbia also got 20 bench points and finished with 25 assists on 28 made field goals to keep control down the stretch. Princeton (8-17, 4-6 Ivy) was led by
Dalen Davis with 19 points.
PENN 82, CORNELL 76
Penn (13-10, 6-4 Ivy) used a 46-point second half and a huge night at the foul line (27-for-41) to earn an 82–76 win over Cornell at The Palestra.
TJ Power and
Jay Jones scored 17 points apiece, while
AJ Levine added 16 and the Quakers got 30 bench points to help offset a cold shooting night from three (3-for-20). Penn also turned defense into offense, finishing with 23 points off turnovers and 21 fast-break points to maintain control late. Cornell (12-11, 5-5 Ivy) was led by
Jake Fiegen’s 17 points.
BROWN 79, DARTMOUTH 76
Brown (8-15, 2-8 Ivy) shot 55.4% from the field and 40.9% from three to rally past Dartmouth in Hanover, 79-76.
Landon Lewis led the Bears with 30 points and 10 rebounds on 12-of-15 shooting, while the team combined for nine made threes as Brown closed with a 49-point second half. Dartmouth (10-13, 4-6 Ivy) got 24 points from
Jayden Williams.
