Cornell, Harvard, Penn, and Yale Claim Friday Night Wins

PRINCETON, N.J. — Cornell, Harvard, Penn, and Yale all claimed wins on Friday night as Cornell and Penn improved to 5-4 in a pivotal race for Ivy Madness. Meanwhile, Harvard and Yale both won to set up a clash on Saturday night on ESPNU between two teams tied at 7-2 atop the conference standings.

YALE 83, DARTMOUTH 70
Yale (19-4, 7-2 Ivy) shot 55.4 percent from the field and hit 46.7 percent of its threes in an 83-70 road win at Leede Arena. Trevor Mullin led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Casey Simmons added 14 and Nick Townsend contributed 13 as Yale outpaced Dartmouth in both halves and built a double-digit advantage. Yale also finished with 20 points off turnovers and 31 rebounds to help control the game throughout. Dartmouth (10-12, 4-5 Ivy) was paced by Connor Amundsen with 16 points.

PENN 76, COLUMBIA 67
Penn (12-10, 5-4 Ivy) closed strong with a 42-point second half to top Columbia at The Palestra. Ethan Roberts led the Quakers with 21 points, while Michael Zanoni added 16 as Penn scored 22 points off turnovers and got 18 points from its bench. Penn also finished with 15 assists and 10 steals, using extra possessions to flip a three-point halftime deficit. Columbia (14-9, 3-6 Ivy) was led by Kenny Noland’s 22 points.

CORNELL 89, PRINCETON 65
Cornell (12-10, 5-4 Ivy) shot 55.0 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from three-point range in a dominant 89-65 road win at Jadwin Gym. Jake Fiegen led the Big Red with 20 points on perfect shooting (7-for-7) and Adam Hinton added 12 as Cornell jumped out to a 44-27 first-half advantage and never looked back. Cornell also finished with 14 made threes and scored 38 points in the paint to stretch its lead. Princeton (8-16, 4-5 Ivy) was paced by Dalen Davis with 19 points.

HARVARD 56, BROWN 53
Harvard (14-9, 7-2 Ivy) built a 31–22 halftime lead and held on at Lavietes Pavilion to defeat Brown, 56-53. The Harvard scoring punch was led by 20 points from Robert Hinton and 17 from Tey Barbour, who hit three 3-pointers. The Crimson hit seven three-pointers and finished with 34 rebounds while forcing 15 Brown turnovers to help preserve the margin late. Brown (7-15, 1-8 Ivy) was led by Landon Lewis with 17 points.
