PRINCETON, N.J. – After an exciting year that saw two Ivy squads punch NCAA Tournament tickets for the first time since 2019, the 2025 season looks to be another thriller. Following a vote by media members, Princeton received the most votes in the 2025 Ivy League preseason poll and tied for first with Harvard with eight first-place votes.
The Tigers collected 120 points after winning the outright Ivy League title a year ago, while Harvard collected 118 after capturing the 2024 tournament title. Both teams advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals a year ago as the No. 10 Crimson defeated No. 11 Syracuse in overtime, 1-0 and the Tigers took down No. 7 Boston College, also by a score of 1-0.
Brown landed in the third spot after collecting 85 points. The Bears appeared in the Ivy League tournament for the first time last season and was the No. 3 seed. Yale collected 78 points and was picked to finish fourth this season. Cornell, Penn, Columbia and Dartmouth rounded out the final four spots.

The Ivy League field hockey season is slated to begin on Friday, September 5 with all eight teams in action. Following the regular season, the Ivy League field hockey tournament is slated for Friday, November 7 and Sunday, November 9. The four-team tournament will consist of the top-four teams from the regular season and will be hosted at the site of the No. 1 seed.
