PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 2 seeded Princeton Tigers and No. 3 seeded Harvard Crimson both captured quarterfinal victories on Sunday afternoon and advanced to the NCAA Final Four next weekend in Durham, N.C. Princeton defeated Syracuse, 2-1 and Harvard took down UConn, 1-0.
Harvard last appeared in the final four in 2021, and Princeton is back in championship weekend for the first time since 2019.
It wasn’t until the third quarter, but Princeton got on the board first against Syracuse when Pru Lindsey redirected a shot home with just seconds to go in the period, however the Orange tied the game in the 57th minute to make it 1-1. Princeton drew a penalty corner with less than two minutes remaining in regulation before Beth Yeager fired a drag flick past the Syracuse goalkeeper to give the Tigers the lead, and ultimately the win.
Martha le Huray was the goal scorer for the Crimson as she slapped a rebound into the cage off a penalty corner. The Crimson controlled possession nearly the entirety of the game, out-shooting the Crimson 18-8. Linde Burger picked up four saves on her way to her ninth shutout of the year.
Princeton and Harvard will now face each other in the final four on Friday, November 21 at 12 p.m. The game will air live on ESPNU. The winner will take on the winner of No. 1 North Carolina and Northwestern at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 23.
