Ivy League Announces Cross Country Coaching Staffs of the Year; All-Ivy Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. –  Following the 2025 Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championships at New York City's Van Cortlandt Park, the Ivy League has announced the men's and women's cross country coaching staffs of the year selections as well as the All-Ivy teams.

After leading their teams to Ivy League titles for the second-straight season, both Princeton coaching staffs were voted coaching staffs of the year. The women, led by Brad Hunt, claimed their second-straight title, while the men won their fifth consecutive championship under the direction of Jason Vigilante.

Princeton's Anna McNatt took home the individual title on the women's side, being one of only three individuals to finish under the 21-minute mark, crossing the line at 20:35.0, to also earn First Team All-Ivy honors. McNatt's teammate, Meg Madison, took the silver medal with a time of 20:42.7 as Harvard's Molly Malague crossed just under 21 minutes in 20:58.9. Yale's Claire Archer, Princeton's Caroline Barton, Harvard's Sophia Gorriaran, and Cornell's Mairead Clas also earned First Team All-Ivy honors.

Princeton's Myles Hogan blew away the competition on the men's side to take the individual title, winning by over 45 seconds en route to First Team All-Ivy honors. Harvard's Tam Gavenas placed second with a time of 24:14.4 while his teammate Charlie Ortmans placed fourth (24:20.6). Narrowly edged out by Gavenas, Yale's Owen Karas took the bronze medal at 24:15.8. Hogan's teammates Jackson Shorten and Jacob Nenow also earned First Team All-Ivy honors in addition to Harvard's Sam Burgess.

Additionally, one Ivy League men's and women’s cross country student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and in sport as members of the 2025 Ivy League Cross Country Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s Sebastian Margetts and Nimrit Ahuja, Columbia’s Edward Blaha and Rory Clare, Cornell's Tyler Canaday and Mairead Clas, Dartmouth’s Eric Sankey and Katherine Strong, Harvard’s Sam Burgess and Abby Weber, Penn's Kofi Fordjour and Anna Weirich, Princeton’s Jackson Shorten and Maddie Cramer, and Yale’s Owen Karas and Claire Archer were each named to the team.
