VERONA, Wisc. – Harvard’s Graham Blanks became the 13th ever individual to repeat as the NCAA men’s cross country national champion Saturday morning at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
The Athens, Ga., native, who became the first Ivy to win the men’s race last year, posted a time of 28:37.2 to become just the fifth person this century to repeat. With the result, he earned All-America honors for the fourth time in his career.
Columbia’s Phoebe Anderson finished 26th in the women’s race with a time of 19:56.0 to mark her second consecutive All-America performance.
Penn’s Dylan Throop placed 27th in 29:19.6 in the men’s race to secure All-America honors for the first time in his career.
The Harvard women placed 28th overall with Molly Malague posting the Crimson’s top time with 20:41.6. She crossed the line next to Princeton’s Mena Scatchard who edged her by .4 seconds.
Princeton placed 24th in the men’s race and Harvard took 27th. The Tigers top performance came from Myles Hogan, who placed 64th in 29:38.1. Shane Brosnan was the second Crimson finisher, placing 57th in 29:35.8.
Cornell’s Derek Amicon earned a top 50 finish, placing 48th in 29:31.0.
