PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia won the battle of the unbeatens with a strong second half to top Princeton, while Brown, Harvard and Yale earned Ivy League women’s basketball wins on Monday.
HARVARD 73, PENN 44
Harvard (14-2, 3-1 Ivy) had a trio of double-digit scorers in its road win over Penn (10-7, 1-3 Ivy).
Elena Rodriguez scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Crimson.
Harmoni Turner posted 19 points and collected eight rebounds.
Saniyah Glenn had 14 points and a team-high four assists.
Stina Almqvist led Penn with 14 points. Harvard outscored Penn 42-21 in the second half.
BROWN 49, CORNELL 39
Isabella Mauricio joined the 1,000 point club as she led Brown (8-9, 2-2 Ivy) past Cornell (4-13, 0-4 Ivy) in Providence, R.I. Mauricio tallied 18 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Grace Arnolie also scored in double figures for the Bears, finishing with 14 points.
Alyssa Moreland recorded six steals, tied for the second most by an Ivy this season. Cornell’s
Paige Engels had 10 points and eight boards.
YALE 70, DARTMOUTH 67
Yale (2-15, 1-3 Ivy) ditched its 15-game losing skid with a road win over Dartmouth (8-9, 2-2 Ivy).
Grace Thybulle led the Bulldogs with 20 points and shot 8-of-9 from the floor.
Mackenzie Egger also had a big game with 17 points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs shot 49 percent from the floor and were 11-of-12 at foul line. Dartmouth’s
Victoria Page dropped a game-high 29 points.
COLUMBIA 58, PRINCETON 50
After trailing by 10 at halftime, Columbia (13-4, 4-0 Ivy) outscored Princeton (12-5, 3-1 Ivy) 38-20 to win the battle of the unbeaten teams.
Cecelia Collins led the Lions with 18 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and hit three treys.
Susie Rafiu also scored in double figures, finishing with 13 points and recorded a team-high four steals.
Kitty Henderson had seven assists and seven rebounds. Princeton’s
Ashley Chea registered 16 points for the Tigers.
