PRINCETON, N.J. –  Following strong individual outings in Ivy League play, three first-years earned Ivy League weekly awards as Dartmouth’s Justice Malone, Princeton’s Sonia Zhang, and Dartmouth’s Jensin Hall were honored.
 
CO-PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Justice Malone, Dartmouth (Fr., INF – Mount Vernon, Il.)

• Was critical in Dartmouth’s split with Harvard this weekend, posting a .714 batting average, .750 on base percentage and 1.286 slugging percentage in her first Ivy appearances
• In game one, she went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a momentum-shifting home run, which was also the first of her career. She also stole a base and scored a run in the game.
• In the nightcap, Malone was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored to help the Big Green secure its first Ivy win

 
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sonia Zhang, Princeton (Fr., INF – Houston, Texas)

• Led the team with a .667 (6-of-9) batting average on the weekend, scoring five runs while hitting a home run to slug 1.000
• Also added two walks for a .727 on base percentage
• Recorded hits in all three games, including going 3-for-3 in game two against Columbia

 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jensin Hall, Dartmouth (Fr., P – Frisco, Texas)

• Finished the weekend with a 0.00 ERA and 15 total strikeouts over eight innings of work
• Fired a career-high 13 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout against Harvard, allowing just one hit and one walk
• Also appeared in relief during game one against the Crimson, striking out two and allowing no hits in one inning.
• Currently ranks top-10 nationally in strikeouts per seven innings.
