Ivy League Softball All-Ivy, Major Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – On Wednesday, the Ivy League announced the 2026 Softball All-Ivy Teams and Major Award winners following the conclusion of the 2026 regular season.
 
Cornell’s Lauren Holt and Penn’s Jade Montgomery shared Co-Player of the Year honors after a tie in voting among the league’s coaches.
 
Holt led the Ivy League in several major statistical categories, including batting average (.474), slugging percentage (1.015), on-base percentage (.565), hits (64), runs (48), RBI (66) and home runs (19). Her 19 home runs set the Ivy League single-season record. The senior also totaled 14 doubles, 12 stolen bases and 30 walks while striking out just nine times in 43 games.
 
Montgomery, also a senior, turned in a .415 batting average and a .696 slugging percentage. She finished with 56 hits, including 17 doubles and seven home runs, to go along with 33 RBI and 30 runs in 44 games. In Ivy play, she hit a staggering .537.
 
Columbia freshman Mads Lawson earned both Pitcher of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. In her first collegiate season, Lawson posted a 13-7 overall record with a league-leading 2.39 ERA and 17 complete games in the circle. The California native logged 140.2 innings and four shutouts for the Lions, striking out 133 batters while holding opponents to a .235 batting average.
 
After capturing its fifth consecutive regular season title, Princeton’s coaching staff, led by head coach Lisa Van Ackeren, was named Coaching Staff of the Year. The Tigers finished the regular season 30-13 with an 18-3 conference mark, earning the league's No. 1 seed in this week’s Ivy League Tournament.
 
The All-Ivy First Team featured an honoree from six different League institutions. Holt, Lawson, and Montgomery were unanimous All-Ivy selections, along with the Princeton duo of Graciela Dominguez and Cassidy Shaw and Cornell’s Tarisa Frans.
 
Joining them on the First Team was a trio of players from Harvard in Nicolette Hunter, Sophie Sun, and Audrey Szollosi, as well as Princeton’s Karis Ford and Sonia Zhang. Gigi Ganje of Penn and Libby Peoples of Yale completed the First Team selections.
 
In addition, eight Ivies were named to the Academic All-Ivy team for their outstanding performances both in the classroom and on the field. The Academic All-Ivy team includes Brown’s Lily Berlinger, Columbia’s Sarah Mikami, Cornell’s Laney Freiband, Dartmouth’s Lauren Ben-Ezra?, Harvard’s Ryan Grace, Penn’s Delaney Smith, Princeton’s Sonia Zhang, and Yale’s Kaitlyn Oikle?.
