PRINCETON, N.J. — Following the results of Saturday's contests, Columbia clinched a spot in Ivy Madness on March 15-17. The Lions became the second team to earn its spot in the tournament as only two more spots remain on the women's side.
On Saturday night, Dartmouth earned its first Ivy League victory of the season — and of the Linda Cimino era — with a 48-44 win over Cornell.
Clare Meyer led the way for the Big Green with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Brown and Penn were the next two Ivies in action as the Bears claimed a pivotal win over the Quakers by a score of 61-59. In a back-and-forth contest,
Kyla Jones scored a game-winning bucket in the closing seconds.
In the final game on Saturday, Princeton continued its winning streak with a 70-25 win over Yale. The Tigers have now won 15 games in a row and are 10-0 in Ivy League play.
In the matchup of the weekend in front of a nationally-televised audience, Columbia bested Harvard, 71-63, on Sunday afternoon. In a game that featured 19 lead changes, the Lions stretched the lead late in the fourth quarter thanks to clutch free throw shooting to earn the win.
Cecelia Collins led the way for the Lions with 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
