PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2024 Ivy League softball preseason poll finished just about as close as the 2023 season ended, but it was Princeton who earned the top spot in the Ivy preseason rankings for the second-straight season.

Princeton collected 119 points and eight first place votes in the poll while Harvard was just behind with 113 points and seven first place votes. The teams shared the Ivy League title last season while Harvard won the inaugural Ivy League tournament championship and captured the Ivy League automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Checking into third was Yale who tallied 96 points and the final first place vote, and rounding out the top four was Columbia who racked up 77 points. Cornell finished fifth with 58 points, Brown was sixth with 51 points, and rounding out the final two spots was Dartmouth with 40 points and Penn with 22 points.

The Ivy League softball tournament is set for Thursday-Saturday, May 9-11 and will be hosted by the site of the No. 1 seed. The event will feature the top four teams in the league who will play in a double elimination format.  The tournament champion will earn the League’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
