Columbia's Alvan Wins Wrestler of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. — In the opening weekend of the Ivy League wrestling season, three Ivies (Brown, Columbia, and Princeton) hit the mats at the Princeton Open as the 2024-25 season got underway. In a host of great performances, Columbia's Cesar Alvan took home the first Wrestler of the Week honor of the season.

WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
Cesar Alvan, Columbia (Jr., 165 - Ludlow, Mass.)
  • Earned a second-place finish in the 165-pound bracket at the Princeton Open.
  • Used two major decision victories and a pin to advance to the 165 semifinals.
  • Battled to earn a 6-5 decision win over Princeton's Sean Seefeldt to earn a spot in the finals.
