PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton swept the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships claiming both the men’s and women’s titles. Columbia’s Phoebe Anderson earned the women’s individual title and Harvard’s Graham Blanks repeated as the men’s individual champion.
WOMEN’S RECAP
Anderson pulled away to win by 12 seconds with a time of 19:52.7, the second-best 6k time in Heps history behind only Dartmouth’s Abbey D’Agostino’s 19:40.8 in 2013. Anderson posted top-five finishes in all four of her cross country Heps races.
On its way to earning its first team title since 2015, Princeton had four top-10 finishers. Mena Scatchard placed second in 20:04.7, the third fastest 6k time in Heps history. Anna McNatt (3rd, 20:17.1), Alexis Allen (7th, 20:25.5) and Meg Madison (8th, 20:28.2) each finished in the top 10.
Yale’s Claire Archer (4th, 20:17.6) and Harvard’s tandem of Molly Malague (5th, 20:18.1) and Penelope Salmon (6th, 20:23.1) each posted first team All-Ivy performances.

MEN’S RECAP
Blanks ran a 22:14.6 to mark the fastest time in Heps history and his 31.8 second margin of victory is the ninth largest in meet history. The top 11 finishers bested the previous 8k record set by Harvard’s Matthew Pereira (23:18.0) in 2021. Penn’s Dylan Throop finished second for the second straight year with a time of 22:46.4. Harvard’s Ben Rosa also repeated as a first team All-Ivy performer, placing fourth in 22:59.8.
The Tigers claimed their fourth consecutive Ivy title, which marks the eighth time that a program has won at least four straight. Myles Hogan posted the top time for the Tigers, finishing in fifth at 23:05.4. Princeton had four second team All-Ivy performances: Nicholas Bendtsen (8th, 23:10.7), Connor McCormick (11th, 23:14.9), Jackson Shorten (13th, 23:24.4) and Harrison Witt (14th, 23:24.9).
Columbia’s Talha Syed (3rd, 22:57.5) and Cornell’s duo of Pierre Attiogbe (6th, 23:06.9) and Derek Amicon (7th, 23:07.7) each posted first team All-Ivy performances.
