Inaugural Ivy Softball Tournament Heads to Princeton May 11-13

PRINCETON, N.J. – The inaugural Ivy League softball tournament is heading to Princeton University’s Strubing Field this week as the four-team double elimination tournament is set for May 11-13. The winner of the tournament receives the Ivy League automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
 
The tournament will feature Princeton as the No. 1 seed, Harvard as the No. 2 seed, Yale as the No. 3 seed and Columbia as the No. 4 seed. Following the regular season, Princeton and Harvard earned a share of the Ivy League championship with 16-5 records, however Princeton earned hosting rights and the No. 1 seed by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker.

Thursday, May 11
Game 1: 12 p.m.- No. 1 Princeton vs. No. 4 Columbia (ESPN+)
Game 2: 2:30 p.m. - No. 2 Harvard vs. No. 3 Yale (ESPN+)
 
Friday, May 12
Game 3: 10 a.m. - Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 (ESPN+)
Game 4: 12:30 p.m. - Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 (ESPN+)
Game 5: 3 p.m. - Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 3 (ESPN+)
 
Saturday, May 13
Game 6: 12 p.m. - Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5 (ESPN+)
Game 7 (if necessary): 35 minutes following conclusion of game 6 (ESPN+)

Daily Pass:
Adult: $15
Children: $10

Participating team students and children 2 and under are free.

ALL-IVY
The Ivy League announced the 2023 major awards and All-Ivy teams on Wednesday. Princeton's Serena Starks was the unanimous Player of the Year while teammate Alexis Laudenslager was the unanimous PItcher of the Year. Harvard pitcher Riley Flynn was voted Rookie of the Year and Princeton head coach Lisa Van Ackeren was chosen as the Coach of the Year. The full release can be found HERE
