Pennsauken, N.J. – All four Ivy League women’s rowing crews participating in the NCAA Championship at Cooper River Park finished with top seven rankings this past weekend.
This marked just the second time in the league’s history that four schools finished within the top seven spots. The other occurrence was in 2005.
Princeton earned the league’s highest ranking, coming in third with 113 points. Yale placed fifth with 110. Penn followed with 92 points, which was good for sixth place – the Quakers highest finish in pro and Brown ranked seventh with 91.
There were three Ivy boats that earned a spot in the Varsity Eight grand final. Princeton finished in 6:22.178 to take third and earn a medal. Penn finished right behind the Tigers in 6:23.860 to place fourth. Yale took sixth place in 6:33.158.
In the Second Varsity Eight, Yale and Princeton each earned spots in the grand final. Yale placed fourth in 6:27.779 and Princeton was fifth in 6:32.031.
Three Ivy boats raced in the Varsity Four grand final with Yale and Brown earning medals. The Bulldogs quartet finished in 7:06.900 to secure silver, while the Bears crossed the finish line in 7:11.870 to take bronze. Princeton placed sixth in 7:22.050.
