WORCESTER, Mass. – Princeton claimed its sixth-straight Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship on Sunday afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond. The Tigers clocked a time of 6:01.806 to win the Varsity Eight grand final.
This was Princeton’s sixth-straight Ivy League title and ninth in 11 years and the program’s 17th title overall.
The Tigers also took home the team points title, totaling 85 to finish first to edge Yale who finished with 84 points. Penn tallied 66 points to take third while Brown claimed fourth with 64 points. Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Cornell rounded out the rest in order.
Princeton took first in the 1V8 while taking second in the 2V8 and V4A to take home the trophy and earn the NCAA Automatic Qualifier. The 1V8 final was tightly contested with Princeton finishing in 6:01.806 and Penn was close behind in 6:03.372.
Yale earned event wins in the other 2V8 (6:12.720) and the V4A (6:55.175). The Bulldogs also secured first place in the V4C (7:20.146).
The 2023 NCAA Championships will take place at Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, New Jersey from May 26-28.
