PRINCETON, N.J. – Following the final full Ivy slate of the regular season, Harvard’s Megan Welsh (Player), Yale’s Nicole Conway (Pitcher) and Dartmouth’s Lauren Ben-Ezra took home weekly Ivy League softball honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Welsh, Harvard (So., C/UTL – Mishawaka, Ind.)
- Batted 5-for-9 (.556) with two RBI and four runs scored during Harvard’s three-game sweep of Columbia to help the Crimson secure its ninth Ivy League Championship
- Recorded a walk-off double in game two when she finished the game going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run
- Also homered in the series finale
- Recorded a .600 on base percentage for the week and 1.000 slugging percentage
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Conway, Yale (Sr., P – Tucson, Ariz.)
- Made two appearances in the circle and pitched 10 innings, tallying six strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. In addition, she did not allow a single run.
- Allowed just five hits against 37 batters during those 10 innings, posting a .161 opponent batting average
- Threw a complete-game shutout to help Yale secure a berth in the Ivy softball tournament
- Tallied six strikeouts on the week
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lauren Ben-Ezra, Dartmouth (Fr., OF – Poughkeepsie, N.Y.)
- Had a big week for the Big Green at the plate, finishing with a .538 batting average (7-for-13) to go along with a .600 on base percentage
- Scored three runs and drove in one
- Had two multi-hit performances including a 2-for-3 game one and 3-for-5 game three
