Columbia, Penn, Harvard Stay Perfect In Ivy Play

PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia, Yale, Harvard and Penn earned Ivy League victories on Friday evening as Columbia, Harvard and Penn all moved to 2-0 in conference play.
 
Columbia and Princeton delivered on the national stage, but it was the Lions who prevailed over the Tigers in overtime, 58-55. Columbia was led by Kitty Henderson and Abbey Hsu who had 15 points apiece while Kaitlyn Davis had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Princeton’s Grace Stone knocked down a three-pointer with 18 seconds to go in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but Columbia’s Kaitlyn Davis hit the game-winning layup with 1:18 remaining in the extra period to give the Lions the road victory.  
 
After a closely contested first half, Penn raced out to a 14-point lead behind a 10-0 run to begin the third quarter as the Quakers topped Cornell, 62-54 at The Palestra. Penn guard Kayla Padilla had another strong evening as the senior tallied 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting. The Quakers were led on the boards by Jordan Obi who hauled down 15 rebounds, while Mandy McGurk dished out a team-high six assists.
 
It was a career evening for Harvard’s Lola Mullaney as the Crimson led wire-to-wire over Brown, 89-59. Mullaney erupted for a career-high 30 points (11-of-15 FG) while shooting 60-percent from beyond the arc (6-of-10). In addition to Mullaney, the Crimson had four players in double figures including Harmoni Turner (16 points), Elena Rodriguez (11 points) and Katie Krupa (10 points). In addition to Rodriguez 11 points, the sophomore guard posted 11 boards and five assists, notching her second double-double of the season.

Yale racked up 40 second half points as the Bulldogs claimed a 57-47 road win over Dartmouth. Klara Astrom led the way for Yale with 12 points while Jenna Clark had eight assists. 
 
All eight teams are back in action tomorrow. Columbia visits Penn, Brown is at Dartmouth, Cornell heads to Princeton and Yale is at Harvard.
