Penn Coach Steve Dolan Voted Ivy League Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Penn women’s head coach Steve Dolan was voted Coach of the Year following the 2022 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track and Field championship. Dolan guided Penn to capturing their third-straight outdoor women’s title, sixth overall.

Only four points separated the top three teams in the final standings as it all came down to the 4x400 relay. The Quakers pulled away to secure a first-place finish with 137 points. Harvard finished just one point behind at 136, while Princeton rounded at the top-three with 133 points. This was the closest finish between the top three schools in Heps history.

Cornell (82), Brown (53), Dartmouth (52), Yale (48) and Columbia (40) capped off the final ledger.

Yale’s Kayley DeLay was named the Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Track Performer. DeLay set a meet record in the steeplechase with a time of the 9:53 – finishing 35 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She also won the 5000m 16:57.56 which was 12 seconds before the next athlete crossed the line. Princeton’s Kate Joyce was voted the Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Field Performer. Joyce set a Heps and school record with a heave of 51.96m in the javelin.

Additionally, one Ivy League women’s outdoor track and field student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and in sport as members of the 2022 Ivy League Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s Erin McMeniman, Columbia’s Kali Hatcher, Cornell’s Monique Anderson, Dartmouth’s Anoush Krafian, Harvard’s Jada Jones, Penn’s Isabella Whittaker, Princeton’s Grace Lanouette and Yale’s Emma Vasen were each named to the team.
