Sears, Lane Earn Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Following key victories to keep their respective squads in the hunt for an Ivy League regular season crown, Princeton’s Kyla Sears and Yale’s Taylor Lane earn women’s lacrosse weekly honors.
 
Two Ivy League women’s lacrosse programs earn nods in the most recent release of the 2022 ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll. Princeton continues to sit in the No. 12 spot, while Yale enters this week’s rankings at No. 25.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kyla Sears, Princeton (Sr., A — Skaneateles, N.Y.)
  • Sears contributed 11 points in two games against No. 8 Maryland and Dartmouth this past week
  • Tied her career-high eight points in Princeton’s 17-5 win over Dartmouth on Saturday to remain unbeaten in Ivy play
  • Matched Princeton’s single-game record with six assists against the Big Green
  • Added four caused turnovers and six ground balls on the stat sheet for the week
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Lane, Yale (Fr., M — Norwalk, Conn.)
  • Lane notched three goals on three shots and added an assist in a 15-9 win over Cornell to help Yale clinch their first-ever spot in the Ivy League Tournament
  • Added nine draw controls, three caused turnovers and two groundballs to secure the Big Rd victory
  • Notched season-high numbers in points (4), caused turnovers (3) and draw controls (9)
  • Ranked eighth in the Ivy League for draw controls per game (3.64) and caused turnovers per game (1.09)
