CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard claimed its second-straight Ivy League softball Playoff Series title, defeating Columbia in game two, 11-1, to earn the League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Crimson will find out their NCAA Tournament fate on Sunday, May 12, with the selection show at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
Harvard scored four in the first, four in the second, and two in the third and one in the fifth to earn the five-inning victory. Two-time Ivy League Pitcher of the Year
Katie Duncan got the complete game victory for the Crimson, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two to pick up her 17
th win of the year.
The Crimson’s 3-4-5 hitters,
Kaitlyn Schiffhauer,
Meagan Lantz and
Elizabeth Shively, did the most damage, combining to hit 5-for-9 with five runs and five RBI.
Abby Stuart led the Lions, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored.
