BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The six Ivy League wrestling teams are ready for the 2019 EIWA Championships, Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, at Binghamton University.
A total of 47 NCAA bids are on the line at the EIWAs, third-most in the country behind the Big Ten (78) and Big 12 (53). Friday’s action begins at 11 a.m., while Saturday starts at 10 a.m. The entire two-day event will be broadcast live on
FloWrestling.
Last season saw Cornell place second overall and Princeton third, while 24 Ivies won spots to the NCAA Championship. The Big Red, which claimed its 17
th-straight Ivy League wrestling title, is ranked No. 9 in the country, and the Tigers are No. 19.
A total of 11 Ivies are ranked individually heading into EIWAs, including eight in the top-10 of their respective weight classes. Cornell leads the way with six top-ranked wrestlers, including No. 1 at 141 points, defending EIWA and national champion
Yianni Diakomihalis. Princeton teammates
Matthew Kolodzik and
Patrick Brucki are No. 3 at 149 and 197, respectively. Brown is represented in the rankings by senior
Jonathan VIruet (17
