PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell senior Laura Bagwell-Katalinich earns her first career Ivy League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after a dominating week in the post for the Big Red, and Penn’s Kayla Padilla repeats as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week, the league announced Nov. 25.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Laura Bagwell-Katalinich, Cornell (Sr., F – Minneapolis, Minn.)
?      Led Cornell (4-2) to a three-game win streak, averaging 25.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a pair of wins last week.
?      Scored 20 points in the second half against Delaware State on Nov. 23 to finish with a career-high 29 points on 65% shooting (13-of-20) in the Big Red’s 77-51 road win. She added 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
?      Displayed near perfect free throw shooting on the week, hiitting 13-of-14 shots from the line, including 10-of-10 as part of a 22-point performance in an 82-59 win over Niagara on Nov. 21. 
?      Leads the Ivy League with 97 total points, and is Top 5 in the league in points per game (16.2), rebounds per game (8.2) and field goal percentage (.565). 
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kayla Padilla, Penn (Fr., G – Torrance, Calif.)
?      Earns her second-straight Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor by scoring 22 points on 40% (8-of-20) shooting in Penn’s 55-45 win over Saint Joseph’s in the only game of the week, helping Penn to a 4-0 start.
?      Collected two assists and two steals in the win to improve her n
?      Leads Ivy League players with 18.8 points per game in 118 minutes played.
